Everyone has their own version of guacamole. As you will see, we allow for some flexibility as to whether you like tomatoes in your guac, and how spicy you like it.
We hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do. This makes a nice amount for four people if you have other food to eat as well. For larger crowds or if you just love guacamole, double or triple this recipe. Enjoy!
Cut your avocados in half. Either slice and scoop out the flesh of the avocado with a spoon, or carefully cut the peel off the outside of the flesh. Put the soft green flesh in a bowl. Include the pit of the avocado in the bowl, for now, to slow discoloration.
Finely chop the white onion, garlic, and cilantro.
Add to the bowl.
Slice and squeeze a quarter of a lemon for freshness and to help preserve the bright green color of your dish.
Based on your preferences and tastes, finely chop one or two serrano peppers to add heat, and dice and add tomato if you enjoy tomato in your guacamole.
Add a pinch or two of salt to taste.
Smash the avocado and mix all ingredients well to create a smooth texture with the avocado.
